I decided to order the Sigma 100-400 Contemporary and give it a try. The weight is closer to what I am looking for, and we’ll see how it fits the need. It arrives tomorrow. Will post results as soon I can shoot a bit with it.

Again thanks to everyone for their input.I have the Sigma 100-400 EF lens in hand. I have not had a chance to go out shooting wildlife to check the range, but the sharpness appears pretty good. Below on an M50MKII with Canon EF adapter, 315 mm, 1/1000 sec, f/6.3, ISO 500. I had hoped to get some more of currently blooming spring flowers that I can鈥檛 get close enough to for my shorter focal length lenses, but we just had 2 nights below freezing and many have affected by the freeze.
